Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips are used for:
Relieving congestion due to colds, flu, hay fever, and other allergies. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips are a decongestant. It works by reducing swelling and constricting blood vessels in the nasal passages, allowing you to breathe more easily.
Do NOT use Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips if:
- you are allergic to any ingredient in Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips
- you have had an unusual reaction (eg, dizziness, weakness, tremors, irregular heartbeat) to another sympathomimetic medicine (eg, pseudoephedrine)
- you are taking furazolidone or have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (eg, phenelzine) in the last 14 days
- you have severe high blood pressure, severe heart blood vessel disease, fast heartbeat, or severe heart problems
Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.
Before using Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips:
Some medical conditions may interact with Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
- if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
- if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
- if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
- if you have a history of glaucoma or increased pressure in the eye, enlarged prostate gland or other prostate problems, heart problems, diabetes, high blood pressure, blood vessel problems, adrenal gland problems, an overactive thyroid, seizures, or stroke
Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips. Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:
- Beta-blockers (eg, propranolol), catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) inhibitors (eg, entacapone), furazolidone, indomethacin, MAOIs (eg, phenelzine), or tricyclic antidepressants (eg, amitriptyline) because they may increase the risk of Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips's side effects
- Digoxin or droxidopa because the risk of irregular heartbeat or heart attack may be increased
- Bromocriptine because the risk of its side effects may be increased by Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips
- Guanadrel, guanethidine, mecamylamine, methyldopa, or reserpine because their effectiveness may be decreased by Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips

How to use Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips:
Use Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
- Take Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips by mouth with or without food.
- Do not remove the strip from the pouch until you are ready to take Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips. Be sure that your hands are dry when you touch the strip.
- Remove the strip from the pouch and place it onto the tongue. The strip dissolves quickly and can be swallowed with saliva. It may be taken with or without water.
- Use the strip right away after you open the pouch. Do not store it for future use.
- If you miss a dose of Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips and are taking it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Important safety information:
- Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips may cause dizziness. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.
- Do NOT take more than the recommended dose or use for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor.
- If your symptoms do not get better within 7 days, if they get worse, or if they occur with a fever, check with your doctor.
- Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips has phenylephrine in it. Before you start any new medicine, check the label to see if it has phenylephrine or pseudoephedrine in it too. If it does or if you are not sure, check with your doctor or pharmacist.
- Do not take diet or appetite control medicines while you are taking Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips.
- If you have trouble sleeping, ask your pharmacist or doctor about the best time to take Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips.
- Tell your doctor or dentist that you take Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips before you receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.
- Diabetes patients - Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips may affect your blood sugar. Check blood sugar levels closely. Ask your doctor before you change the dose of your diabetes medicine.
- Use Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips with caution in the ELDERLY; they may be more sensitive to its effects.
- Caution is advised when using Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips in CHILDREN; they may be more sensitive to its effects.
- Different brands of Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips may have different dosing instructions for CHILDREN. Follow the dosing instructions on the package labeling. If your doctor has given you instructions, follow those. If you are unsure of the dose to give a child, check with your doctor or pharmacist.
- Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips should be used with extreme caution in CHILDREN younger than 2 years old; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.
- PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips while you are pregnant. Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips are found in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips.
Possible side effects of Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips:
All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:
Dizziness; headache; nausea; nervousness; restlessness; sleeplessness; stomach irritation.
Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); fast or irregular heartbeat; hallucinations; seizures; severe dizziness or headache; severe or persistent nervousness, restlessness, or trouble sleeping; tremor; trouble urinating.

Proper storage of Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips:
Store Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Sudafed PE Quick-Dissolve Orally Disintegrating Strips out of the reach of children and away from pets.
